The art of cheese making, perfected by the monks back in 1150, was passed down to local farmers’ wives who continued to produce the cheese in their own farmhouses. Back in the 1930’s the industrial depression made trading conditions difficult, leaving the creamery in significant debt to farmers and the dairy faced closure.

Aysgarth Falls are a triple flight of waterfalls, surrounded by forest and farmland, carved out by the River Ure over an almost a one-mile stretch on its descent to mid-Wensleydale in the Yorkshire Dales of England, near the village of Aysgarth. The falls are quite spectacular during wet weather, as thousands of gallons of water cascade over the series of broad limestone steps.
Hardraw Force home of England`s largest single drop waterfall, is set within the grounds of the historic Green Dragon Inn. Follow in the footsteps of some of England`s greatest artists and writers of their day Turner and Wordsworth, over the worn flag stone passage through this ancient hostelry and watch Hardraw Force cascade from a reputed height of one hundred feet.
